Journal

I thought I would try to express a little of the dullness that is my existence in the form of a journal. In other words, I wanted to share my boredom! Most recent entries are at the top. Keep an eye out for random updates.

P.S.

In association with Amazon.com, I've provided links to some items of interest. Sooner or later I'll work out a nice way to differentiate these links from other content. Any such links are referral links and I may earn a nominal credit of some sort if you buy something through one. You've been warned! Wait... that's a good thing. Okay, so I'm poor and I want to be able to buy more stuff.

whatever...

09/20/2005

I was supposed to hang out with Lauryn on Sunday but I ended up just going to sleep. However, I did manage to finally read the latest Harry Potter book earlier that day... I bought a copy back when it came out but I ended up sick that week and never got around to reading it. So yeah, I started it last week, read around 200 pages but kept getting interrupted with things. I wasn't doing anything Sunday morning so it didn't take long at all to finish it.

After that, I went through my Amazon wish list and deleted some things. For some odd reason, I got this idea to type a name into the search... like a little voice in the back of my head... and there was the matching name and birthday I recognized. Someone I used to know... I kind of wish I hadn't looked now. Apparently she got married earlier in the year... odd way to find out. We used to be really good friends but I sort of messed things up... only in a worse way than normal. When you completely screw up a friendship, is there ever any way to repair it? I don't want to bother her by e-mailing, even though I do wish her the most sincerest of congratulations. Yeah... so... I don't know what to do, so I probably won't do anything... which I'm sure is for the best.

In other news, I finally hung out with Marisa again. She stopped by late last night and we went out and shot some photos. I'm definitely not capable of holding the camera steady enough to shoot outside at night without a flash. We took a few shots and then went back and picked up my tripod... should have thought of that in the first place, eh? Most of them were somewhat blurry and all in all they were very grainy... but more than a few turned out nicely. I hope she can find a use for them.

What else... I ordered myself some CD's a couple of weeks ago and one of them was holding up the order at Amazon. Delayed until some time in October? Whatever... I decided to cancel that one (Lycia's Estrella) and reorder it from CD Baby instead. Back to waiting...

And... yeah... I don't know what else to say. More later, I suppose.

Beef, it's... lemon pie?

09/11/2005

So... I went grocery shopping with Lauryn last night and happened across some of those cheap-boxed pie things like you might find at a gas station. I stopped to check out the ingredients... maybe I was in the mood for pie? Well... when my eyes hit "partially hydrogenated beef tallow" I knew that this pie was not for me. Come on... it's freaking lemon pie? Maybe the beef tallow adds that special "kick" and then there's the whole clotting effect... right, maybe it's just a gelatinous additive... but beef... in lemon pie? Yeah...

Fixed

09/11/2005

I checked around and found another Borders that had a copy of the Enon album Hocus-Pocus. The return/exchange went well and I now have a new copy. Unfortunately, I guess this copy is a different revision of the album. Instead of containing a booklet, as did my defective copy, this one has a simple one-sheet folded cover. Eh... whatever. I haven't tried to play it yet, but I have faith that this one will work. The clerk opened the album in the store and checked... dimple free.

Broken

09/06/2005

Well, I've wanted to get some Enon albums for a while and I happened to be at Borders the other day. Yeah... I picked up a copy of Hocus-Pocus and attempted to play it today. It's defective! The horror! There's a dimple in the surface of the disc and it skips after around track 8. I guess the plastic wasn't formed correctly when the disc was fabricated. Looks like I'll be returning it. The sad part is that they only had one copy and I used a coupon to buy it. So, I won't be able to exchange the disc for the same album and I probably won't be able to exchange it for anything without having to give them more money. I dunno... I'll see what happens. Blah.
