AntiPoetics - Poetry - Winter

Winter

The sky is mottled gray, waiting for rain.
Winter's air whips the icy cold.
Chilled through to your marrow,
The narrow marrow of your spectrum,
With clouds of frost for breath.
The leaves once forest shades of green
Retreat into dormant death:
Orange, gold, crimson tears
Falling gently from heaven.
