AntiPoetics - Poetry - Salt Lick Lullaby

Salt Lick Lullaby

and the darkness comes crashing
on uneven footing,
salty secrets surround
in a symphony, I'm standing,
I'm standing, awash in the wonder
of the deep sleeping slumber
the waves of emotion
the fear of forgetting noon
to the gentle tug, tug, tugging
at the legs of pants pressed damp
washing wishes into sea foam familiarity
blue cresting white cascading cast cold
in Atlantic deafening roar
