And another one fell
From the open window
Down to the street
To the clutter below
There was a thud
Soft but audible
And again it happened
Without delay
More and more fell
Forming a great mass
Wide and growing
Spreading like a disease
It engulfed the land
An ocean emerged
From a mass of nothing
Soon the world would die
Leaving behind only this
Why did they let it happen
The sorrow, the fear
Still it grew larger
The size incomprehensible
All life dissolved by it
Once held sacred
Now the image of evil
Those that escaped
Would be gone by night
Where was the light
Their savior had departed
Screaming in torment
Those left melted away
No souls were saved
No one cared to repent
All gone, gone for ever
To never return
Their replacements would arrive
Only to repeat this
No one will ever learn
The force they wield
Is their destroyer
Why can't they turn
