AntiPoetics - Poetry - icy winter

icy winter

the burning kiss of icy winter
shatters thoughts like crystal water
blue blue blue in the heavens
with a gray blanket to suffocate
the world in forgotten warmth
forgotten strength
forgotten color
forgotten life
and I live
simply out of habit
and I breath
simply out of reflex
and I die
without knowing
without seeing
without feeling
the happiness
that so eludes me
in my season of forever
my winter that never ebbs
but surrounds itself in darkness
hiding, hiding from the light
and those that would banish it away
and it returns, returns
like the dawning of another snowy day
