Journal

I thought I would try to express a little of the dullness that is my existence in the form of a journal. In other words, I wanted to share my boredom! Most recent entries are at the top. Keep an eye out for random updates.

P.S.

In association with Amazon.com, I've provided links to some items of interest. Sooner or later I'll work out a nice way to differentiate these links from other content. Any such links are referral links and I may earn a nominal credit of some sort if you buy something through one. You've been warned! Wait... that's a good thing. Okay, so I'm poor and I want to be able to buy more stuff.

It's me again

02/14/2004

Well, nothing really exciting has happened lately other than what I'm about to write about. I'm just trying to write something so that I have an excuse to update the site. Right. That rhymed... but it was unintentional. Anyhow... I received my copy of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 a few days after ordering it. I went with two week free shipping on the order and somehow it managed to get here long before I expected it. So... I've been playing around with some code and working on some new things for it. If you're a fan of Corel Photo-Paint, this is a worthwhile upgrade over previous versions. So far, I highly recommend it.

Other than that, I played around some more with the new layout for AntiPoetics. Unfortunately, it still looks like crap in Netscape 4.x. On the upside, it looks a little better now and I think I can probably get it to an acceptable state in the near future. When I do update, the new layout isn't a dramatic change, but it will be a change for the better. What else is there? Hmm... not much... Wait; music! Right.

I bought a lot of CD's in January due to a nice ~$2 CD clearance event at Media Play. That explains most of the newer random additions to my collection. After that, I discovered Halou and Collide... great stuff and definitely worth a listen. Also, while talking to my friend Jennifer about the Swedish band Baxter, I thought I'd look up some info on the singer and see if she was involved in any other projects. To my amazement, Baxter has a new album out. While recorded in English, it apparently isn't available in the English speaking retail world yet... if it ever will be. Thankfully, the band has some tracks (okay, all of them?) up on their site. I might cave in and order from somewhere in Europe... or just wait it out for a while and see what happens.

... and I am

02/04/2004

January's gone and not a word, not a word. I guess I didn't have much to say. I spent some time with friends and spent the rest of the time working on some programs. Other than that, there isn't much to say. I haven't written any new poetry, but I have worked on the changes in this site's layout. I'm getting close; I just need more time. As the layout stands, it completely breaks in Netscape 4.x. I'm not sure that it really matters to even bother supporting that browser any longer. It was always my preference over IE... at least until Mozilla really took off. The good news is the layout looks fine in IE and Mozilla... on wintel machines anyway. I'll probably check it out under Linux sometime before I'm ready to upload it... and maybe a Mac too if I can find one around. CorelDraw Graphic Suite 12 is supposed to come out this month and I've already got my hands on a prerelease copy. I'm working on some programs related to that and hopefully I'll have something good together very soon. If you're a fan of Photo-Paint, you're really going to like this one over versions 10 and 11. Yeah... so... anyway... back to coding for now. Maybe I'll update again sometime soon. Maybe.
